This is actually an old blog post I made in my old blog. But since I closed it, I thought I’ll be reposting the old posts here.
A loooong time ago, I was surfing the net, watching clothes and jewelry, when I stumbled upon something that left me speechless. Not because of the beauty, even if I like it, but for the price.
It’s a small necklace from Ana Khouri I found in Barneys Store.

Ok, I know, it’s gold and has a very small diamond on it. The price would be justified. I suppose.
After spending like half hour laughing my head out, about the ridiculous high price, I realized the necklace was so DIYable that I just couldn’t resist.
So I went for a walk to look after some can tab forgotten on the floor. Such a nice way to justify some good exercise. It didn’t took long before I found two perfect specimens for my new project.
Back in home, I sprayed paint a can tab and added a jump ring to hang it in a golden chain.
You can glue a little rhinestone to make it even more similar, but I didn’t have one at that moment, and those are not things you can easily find in the street.
The back side of the can tab sometimes needs to be sanded, because it’s sharp-edged, and it could hurt the skin.
With this I just saved like $2,820. Well… It’s not like I would have bought it anyway.
But if anyone has the possibility, go ahead.
I also made a blue one, which is my personal favorite, since I had no idea why the golden one looks like crap [oh yeah, spray paint was crap], but this is painted with a nail polish I have, that I love.
And that’s it.
I’m already searching the materials for another inspired project I found. Yes!
